Texts and Tech: Stories of AI
This summer camp will use texts, media and hands-on activities to explore the topic of AI and society. We will ask questions about our future with AI. How will it affect human thriving? Creativity? Will we have jobs in the future? What will they be like? How should Christians think about what it means to be human, and how will this help us to navigate a future that includes AIs? As we explore these questions, we will read journalism and watch videos that introduce us to the basic concepts behind the development of the technology and how it works. We will also look at science fiction texts and films that look at a world where automated systems take control. Each participant will also have the opportunity to write their own science fiction short story and share it with their peers.
