Each year, we hold several events for Southern's alumni and friends to learn about
special projects and partner with us in furthering our mission.
Nearly 80 Southern students worked together to surprise Southern’s University Health Center (UHC) personnel with flower arrangements, handmade cards, and goodie bags this February.
David Smith, PhD, has announced that he will retire in May 2021 at the conclusion of his fifth year as president of Southern Adventist University. Smith has a long relationship with the institution, where he began teaching English in 1981, serving 17 years as professor and then department chair. His wife, Cherie, and two daughters are graduates of Southern.
In preparation for the return of students and employees to campus for the Fall 2020 semester, Southern Adventist University took the special precaution of installing enhanced air filtration systems in every building on campus. These needlepoint bipolar ionization systems will provide hospital-level air filtration in all classrooms, offices, meeting areas, and residence halls.
