This summer, Southern Adventist University hosted the Seventh-day Adventist Nurse Educators Conference, exploring the theme of “Transforming Adventist Nursing Education: Theory to Practice.” Sixty-two nurse educators—a record number—attended the three-day conference from eight Adventist colleges and universities: Andrews, Loma Linda, Oakwood, Southern, Southwestern, Union, and Washington Adventist.
On July 27, friends, families, and significant others gathered with Southern faculty, staff, and employees to commemorate a pinnacle moment in students’ lives: college graduation. During this event, 23 graduates received undergraduate degrees, while 35 received master’s degrees.
Southern Adventist University welcomes Rachel Williams-Smith, PhD, as the new dean of the School of Journalism and Communication. Williams-Smith comes to Southern from Andrews University, where she served for four years—most recently as graduate program director of the Communication Department. She has 19 years of teaching experience and eight years of overlapping management experience at the university level.
