William H. Wilson Endowed Scholarship

To honor nurses

The William (Bill) H. Wilson Endowed Scholarship was established to honor the deep respect Bill held for the nursing profession. Throughout his career in hospital administration for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he often remarked that “Hospitals run on nurses,” recognizing the essential role they play in the healing process.

After retiring in 2006 and relocating to Collegedale, Tennessee, Bill continued his support of healthcare and education as Southern’s volunteer coordinator. He especially enjoyed assisting in the nursing program, where he proudly served as a “pretend patient” for students honing their clinical skills.

To honor their father’s lifelong admiration for nurses and his commitment to their ministry of healing, Bill’s children—Kent, Kevin, and Candace—are endowing this scholarship in his name.
