Blessing Tree
At the beginning of the fall 2023 semester, a Southern employee wanted to find a way to do something extra special for students—especially those quietly facing personal challenges. That idea grew into the Student Blessing Tree, a place where students could write their needs or prayer requests on a card, place it in a small bag, and hang it on the tree. Employees were then invited to select a student’s card and, as they were able, meet that student’s need.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who participated, the Blessing Tree touched the lives of 50 students during its first Christmas season. Some even had their school bills completely paid off—making it possible for them to return to Southern and continue their degrees. Beyond financial help, students received warm clothing, grocery funds, hygiene items, and electronics such as headphones, computers, and iPads. A few students were also selected from the Blessing Tree to receive scholarships for the remainder of their time at Southern.
Your gifts in support of the Blessing Tree fund are deeply appreciated. Through this initiative, we hope that students and their families will continue to experience the love of Christ in tangible, meaningful ways.
