Work Initiative Scholarship Endowment (WISE)

Southern Adventist University recognizes the value of hard work and the importance of a Christ-centered education. The WISE program (Work Initiative Scholarship Endowment) brings these concepts together by making college more affordable to students who are working while attending Southern.

 

WISE rewards students who have significant financial need and commit to applying 50 percent of their earnings toward tuition. Southern matches these applied student earnings with funds from the endowment, dramatically reducing the amount of loans necessary to pay for school.

 

Visionary donors helped launch WISE, and it is currently funded at $4.7 million. Since its inception in 2016, hundreds of students have taken advantage of this creative debt reduction strategy and received more than $500,000 in matching funds. Southern’s goal is to increase WISE to $5 million.
