Description/Duties: We need help delivering mail and packages on campus.

Qualifications: A willingness to learn is required because this job isn't boring. Trustworthiness is required because you will be expected to work alone most of the time and with minimal supervision. Ability to focus is required because you need to be able to ignore your phone and get the job done unless it's an emergency. Good manners are a definite plus! Skills in martial arts are not required but would not be frowned on. Also, you must be 18+ and have a valid US driver's license because you will be driving a minivan around campus.

Hours: We have morning and afternoon shifts. SVAD Productions Student Apprentice

Student Dispatch Officer

Description/Duties: The student dispatch officer mans the dispatch desk, answers and maintains a log of all incoming and outgoing radio traffic among officers, handles walk-in traffic with various needs, answer the phones in a timely, professional manner, monitors several emergency and alarm systems, and any other tasks as assigned by the Dispatch Supervisor.

eClass Support Tech

Description/Duties: We're looking for an eClass Tech Support Agent to handle phone and email support requests from both students and professors. Student Model (Visual Art and Design)

Description/Duties: Must be strong and flexible and able to hold standing poses or reclining poses; Typical poses will be around 1 to 3 minutes though some long-form poses may but up to a ½ hour.

Two Models minimum are need with the possibility of three.

There are three drawing sessions through the course of a week, Mon 8:30-10:50am, Weds 9:00-10:50am, and every Sun 4:00-6:00pm Ideally each student would take one week day session and alternating Sunday sessions.

You must be able to meet at least one of these timeslots in order to apply:

Call Center Agent

Location/Department: Advancement

Description/Duties: The Call Center Agent will serve as a liaison between the university and caller (parent/student/community). The successful candidate will be able to accept responsibility for effectively assisting and solving each callers unique request or issue. They will exhibit and ensure that their behavior and actions will reflect the university standards at all times, in addition to a willingness to accept instruction in a positive manner.

Responsibilities:

Student Mentor

Location/Department: Bietz Center Suite 3400 |First Year Experience

Description/Duties: The primary concern of the Student Mentor is the first-year student's adjustment to college life- residentially, socially, academically, and spiritually during the first year. In the first several weeks, it is the Student Mentor's job to help acclimate the first-year students to the campus and integrate them into the SAU community. The Student Mentor visits the new arrivals, provides academic support, facilitates social connections, and is available to answer any questions and familiarize the new students to services provided on campus and in the community. Each mentor will be assigned approximately 15 new students, of mixed gender.

- Help lead out and be involved at the New Student Orientation for all freshmen.

- Meet once a week, with the Student Mentor Coordinator of the program. [This is for further instruction, collaboration opportunities and fellowship].

- Attend and help the Professor with the weekly Southern Connections class.

- Each Mentor will visit their assigned students and fill out a report every week per student. [This will help update and alert the, Support Staff concerning new students who may be struggling, etc.].

- Plan and implement social activities during the semester. These will foster friendships among the students in your group, touch base to see how each individual is doing, and offer encouragement and guidance

Qualifications:

1. Need to be on campus on August 10, 2022 at 9 am (For training and preparation for orientation.) We will meet in the The Grid on the 2nd floor of the Bietz Center) *Date is subject to change

2. Have concern for the well-being of first-year students, good listening and interpersonal skills, as well as enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

SVAD Annex Studio Crew

Description/Duties: SVAD Studio Crew will be responsible for organizing and repairing studio equipment. Will help facilitate equipment checkouts and help train students on how to properly use equipment. Receptionist (School of Business)

Location/Department: The School of Business

Description/Duties:

  • Receiving/screening calls and taking messages.
  • Welcoming visitors and prospective students.
  • Returning outgoing calls to accepted students.
  • Updating physical/digital job board.
  • Providing general office support (distributing mail, inventory and restock of office supplies, making copies, scanning/faxing documents, light cleaning and organization).
  • Additionally, assistance with special projects/events are needed to an ongoing basis, which may include: Event support, assisting with databases and spreadsheet maintenance, and department mailings.

Qualifications:

  • Preference given to Business majors.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suit.
  • Knowledge of Adobe a plus.
  • Familiar with use of Social Media.
  • Strong Communicator - spoken and written.

Accounting & Finance Tutor (School of Business)

Location/Department: The School of Business

Description/Duties:

  • Provide tutoring services to students currently enrolled in any of the following courses:
      • ACCT 505
      • ACCT 221
      • ACCT 222
      • ACCT 311 (Preferred, not required)
      • ACCT 312 
      • ACCT 322
      • BUAD 128
      • FNCE 315/FNCE 505
  • Maintain the cleanliness and security of the room and equipment in both computer labs. This will include (but not limited to):
  • Maintaining a Log of Students requesting tutoring services.
  • Maintaining a Log of Students who request use of laptops.
  • Recording a count of laptops at the start and close of shift.
  • Removing trash from Tutoring office and labs (large and small).
  • Light housekeeping and sanitizing high use areas.
  • Replacing ink and printer paper as needed for printers.
  • Reporting technical issues to School of Business office and/or SAU IT Support.
  • Providing basic technical assistance or contacting Technical Support as needed to report malfunction.
  • This is not exhaustive and may be modified according to business needs (i.e. COVID protocol).

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have taken and passed (with an A or A-) the following courses:
      • ACCT 221 (required)
      • ACCT 222 (required)
      • ACCT 308 (required)
      • ACCT 309 (preferred)
      • ACCT 322 (preferred)
      • BUAD 128 (preferred)
      • FNCE 315 (strongly preferred)

Hours: Lab is staffed Sunday, 10am - 8pm; Monday through Thursday, 8am - 9pm; and Friday, 8am - 12pm noon. Your individual hours will depend on available slots. Hours are assigned on a first come, first served basis. Preference given to previous tutors.
