To reach the people of Jeju Island via the Seogwipu SDA Church

Jeju Island is a tourist destination off the southern coast of South Korea.  The Seogwipu SDA Church serves the entire island. A volunteer is needed to live nearby, keep the church clean, and offer English lessons to youth, with the hope of expanding the church's influence.

• Average Fundraising Goal: Prices may vary. ~$3,000. See Student Missions Office
• Timeline: The church would prefer someone who can commit to two years. There may, however, be some flexibility.
• Location: Seogwipu City, Jeju Island, South Korea  Check out the location on Google Maps!
• Living Accommodations: 1 room with electricity, refrigerator, bed, AC, vacuum, bathroom/shower, and laundry machine.
• Language: You will be an English teacher to Korean children of various ages. Knowing some basic Korean would be very helpful.
• Food: Meals are the responsibility of the volunteer. A stipend will be provided to help offset cost of food and other necessities.
• Requirements: At least 3 years of college experience preferred. Female volunteers preferred.

Position Info

• Teacher, Janitor, Childcare -

1. Taking Care of Children: Mon-Fri 3:00-7:00 (In the vacation season, the time can be changed.)
2. Children's sermons: Each Sabbath
3. Children's Bible Textbook: Each Sabbath
4. Teaching English to children: 3:00 to 7:00 during the week. Individual or group lessons. 
5. Church cleaning: Every day 9:00 to 11:00 am: chapel, restaurant, toilet on the first floor, toilet on the second floor, churchyard, four childrens' rooms, volunteers' room)
6. Be involved in the church community

    *Community outreach may be requested to be done in the Jeju area.
