Fall 2020 Updates and Resources

Last Updated July 30, 2020
Southern Adventist University is dedicated to the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. The University Health Center continues to monitor updates relating to the spread of the new coronavirus disease, COVID-19.
  • As Southern resumes welcoming visitors to campus, please be aware that everyone arriving on campus must complete a brief symptom survey and have their temperature taken in order to receive a colored wristband indicating they are cleared to be on campus. Locations and times for the temperature check stations can be found at southern.edu/safety.
  • May graduation is rescheduled for August 9, 2020, on Southern's campus. On May 10, we celebrated with our seniors virtually in the Party Before the March. Details about upcoming ceremonies can be found at southern.edu/graduation.
  • Southern will resume on-campus classes for the Fall 2020 semester, which begins August 24 (new students should arrive August 14 or 16).
  • On-campus instruction will end at Thanksgiving, followed by two weeks of distance learning. Residence Hall and meal plan costs have been reduced accordingly.
  • A special task force has worked with university administration to develop plans to maximize safety in the fall.
  • Details about the health and safety precautions Southern is implementing are available by visiting southern.edu/safety.
