averages to approximately 8-10 hours per week.
Seniors accrue 200 in the fall semester and 200 in the winter semester for a total of 400 hours. This equals to 16 hours per week.
Any hours accrued beyond the required amount do not count as extra credit or toward the final grade.

In order for you to gain a balanced experience within your agency, you are required
to spread out your hours. This provides you with more opportunities and experiences
to put into practice the skills you are learning in the classroom. In spreading out
your hours, you are able to get more diverse experiences over the time you are at
your practicum to fulfill the competencies requirements.
There might be a week or two when you are not able to accrue hours. This may put you
at risk for not completing your hours in time and passing field practicum. If there
is a week that you will not be accruing hours, you need to notify the director of
Field Education or the Field Education Office, your field instructor, and your task
supervisor, if applicable.

Juniors must achieve a 3 or higher for Competency 1.
Seniors are required to have a score of 4 or higher on each practice behavior to pass the field practicum. If a score of 4 or higher is not achieved by completion of your hours, then you need to continue in your placement until you have attained competence in all areas. It is important to check with your field instructor on a regular basis to make sure you are on track.
