HMNT 251 Sophomore Honors Seminar: Philosophy and Practice of Research (1 credit)
HMNT 251 is a study of values and ethics. Required of students in the Southern Scholars
program during their sophomore year. Open to other students with permission of program
director.
HMNT 451 Honors Seminar: Interdisciplinary Studies: Belief (1 credit hour)
HMNT 451 examines the process by which Christian scholars weigh evidence and consider
grounds for belief in both religion and philosophy. Required of students in the Southern
Scholars Program during their third year. Open to non-honors students with permission
of program director.
HMNT 452 Honors Seminar: Interdisciplinary Studies: Doubt (1 credit)
HMNT 452 examines the appropriate roles of doubt and skepticism in a challenging intellectual
environment of conflicting ideas regarding science and religion with an emphasis on
faithful learning. Required of students in the Southern Scholars program during their
fourth year. Open to non-honors students with permission of program director.
