OUTREACH
About Us
Southern students enjoy meeting people where they live. You'll find a wide range of
ways to be involved in reaching out to the community. In doing so, you will learn
more about yourself and what God can do through toy. Nearly 20 student-led organizations
provide food for the homeless, cheer for the elderly and disheartened, and a witness
to the wandering and wayward.

So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!”

Ministries
West Side for Jesus
Southern students visit the community at College Heights. While there, they play with
the children (songs, games, books, arts and crafts, story telling) and go door to
door and pray with families. A few times a semester, Southern students take youth
from West Side on field trips around the city and even on camping trips.
SWAG Camp
Southern students go to downtown Chattanooga to hang out and spread some joy with
kids from the East Lake apartments. Come ready to play, get dirty, and have a great
time!
Lantern
Southern Students visit the Lantern Assisted Living facility. Once there they sings
songs with the residents, pray with them, and read God's word with them. Residents
love visitors and the students love hanging out with them!
