Tips for Students
What Is Meet the Firms?
Meet the Firms is a career fair that provides the opportunity for you to meet people who are currently working in your field. With today's economy making the transition from student to employee more difficult, Meet the Firms is designed to bring both student and recruiter to the same location and provide a networking opportunity and hopfully a win-win outcome. These recruiters can share valuable information about your career field, as well as opportunities for internships and full-time employment. Come visit, interview, and practice your job-hunting skills.
When Is Meet the Firms?

Where Is Meet the Firms?
Meet the Firms is held in the Lower and Upper Atrium, the Fellowship Hall, and the Seminar Room of the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists, located on the campus of Southern Adventist University. Directions and map are available.
How Can You participate?
Any student at Southern Adventist University is welcome to attend Meet the Firms and talk to representatives from the different firms. Since it is sponsored by the Schools of Business, Journalism and Communication, Nursing, Social Work, the Biology Department, and Alumni Relations, we can't guarantee there will be firms from areas of interest to you. However, if you'd like to have a particular firm represented, please let your academic department/school know. They can contact the committee for assistance, and we'll be happy to consider other firms.
To be prepared before the event, you need to researching the participating firms listed on this site, update your résumé and dress in business attire.
Meet the Firms also offers a seminar topics-format class each semester to provide necessary job-hunting skills. You may register for Preparing to Meet the Firms, BUAD 412, NURS 412, under either of these course numbers even if you're a major in another discipline. The School of Journalism and Communication offers a similar class called Portfolio and Careers, COMM 415. Either one will be a great help getting you ready not only for Meet the Firms but for interviews in the future.
