Worship
Part of what makes life on Southern's campus unique is the Christ-centered atmosphere. Residence hall worships provide students with the opportunity to strengthen and encourage each other through Christian fellowship.

Curfew

Part of Southern Adventist University's commitment to providing a safe and studious atmosphere is making sure that students are present in the residents halls at a reasonable hour. The following summarizes the residence hall curfews based on student standing.

Grace Period

Sometimes stuff happens. The residence halls have a curfew grace period that allows students to enter after curfew with no consequences. The following summarizes the grace periods based on student standing.

Late Leaves
Late leaves give residents an additional 60 minutes to remain out beyond curfew. Only one late leave may be requested per week. Late leaves must be approved by a dean, in person. No late leaves are available on Fridays or Saturdays except for out-of-town travel.
Overnight Leaves
Any time a student leaves campus overnight (even on a school-sponsored trip), he or she must fill out an overnight leave form. Leaves must be approved before the student leaves campus. Parental approval may be required for any leave. The approval will be placed in the student's mailbox.
Violations

• Minor Violations
Entering the residence hall after the grace period—but less than 60 minutes after curfew—is a minor violation. Other minor violations include illegible sign-ins and requesting overnight leaves after Friday. The culmination of four minor violations is considered one major violation.

• Major Violations
Entering the residence hall 60 minutes past curfew, being unaccounted for at night check, and signing out of the residence hall without permission are major violations.
