    • ABET accreditation evaluators will be on campus from this coming Sunday through Tuesday. The outcome of this process has been years in the making and is so important to our students’ future careers, so we very much covet your prayers. But even more than a positive outcome, our engineering team has been praying that in some way God’s name, rather than ours, will be glorified through this accreditation process.

  • Oscar - For my son Noah to have a life changing year at Southern. With 16 units this semester he needs a lot of prayer for wisdom and guidance.
  • Esperanza - My husband, mother, and I were in a severe car accident, and my mother sustained multiple serious injuries. Please pray for recovery for her and the 17-year-old in the other vehicle.

Thank you to the many SVA alumni who attend Southern & who came to participate in the concert last Sabbath. Praise be to God for their Witness. Be with the SAU students as they enter their exams.

  • Anonymous – PRAISE: Thank you Dear Jesus for HEALING STEVE BREMNER’s leg from cancer. (This prayer was prayed on January 6: Pray for Steve Bremner who is struggling with cancer in his leg for three years now)
  • Jackie Rose – Prayers for wisdom and healing as he has been struggling with allergies and congestion in his throat for a year. Doctors and allergists have not helped so far. (We prayed for this on January 6: be tested for yeast in his throat, feel at ease enough to trust God to strengthen him as he asks the Doctor to do a bronchoscopy into his lungs to determine the cause of his difficulty with congestion.)
  • Anonymous – Please be with our 2 SAU students, as they make life changing decisions Re: their careers and summer work. Thank you Jesus

  • Lori I am requesting prayers for my nephew, Johnny. He had an accident on his motorbike and broke his 5th vertebra. He had to be flown to the hospital for surgery on his spine, and doctors don't know yet if he'll recover or if the injury will result in paralysis in his legs. Please pray for healing.

  • Elaine Hayden – Sister-in-law struggling since the passing of my brother. Name is Gail.
  • Elaine Hayden – Praise that our CACREP visit for Counseling program is confirmed for April. Prayers for God's blessing on all involved in this visit.
  • Sandy Damm – I’d like to make a prayer request for my son Jephter Moura student/Grad of Arts of Film Production who will be traveling this week with his classmates to attend the Film Festival in Loma Linda. May God guide and protect them during the trip and bring them back safely to SAU. May God bless them in their accomplishments at the Festival as well.
  • Sharon Robberson – A family member is in ICU last two weeks and may be succumbing to his struggle with ALS. Please remember him and our family as we trust in Gods love and mercy.
  • Sana Quijada – Pray for my daughter's faith.
  • E. Rodgers – To be able to send her other son to Southern.
  • Kris Eckenroth – That the Holy Spirit will pour out over the campus, community, alumni, and families of Southern.

Emphasis: Math Department & WSMC Radio Station
  • Anonymous – Financial blessings and assistance with my ministry.
  • Anonymous – For the millions of people around the world impacted by the devastating pause to US foreign aid which provides life-saving medicine, education, food, and disaster relief; may the Lord remind our leaders of their responsibility to uphold human dignity and give strength to those who have dedicated their lives to answering the gospel call to serve the least of these and have been unable to do their work, including humanitarians as well as civil servants.
  • Anonymous – A PRAISE OF PROTECTION from Our God… After leaving a West VA ski resort 1 hr before dark, we drove 20 min. when the water pump failed in our car on the TOP of a mountain with NO CELL SERVICE, only a fine clear connection to Jesus. It wasn’t long before he sent a long-haul trucker and then a 70-year-old “angel” named Molly. Her phone worked and we were able to call AAA. One hour of visiting later we were towed safely home 2.50 hrs away. But the story doesn’t end there: Molly's 16 yr old granddaughter has a brain cyst causing seizures and needs our prayers. Her son-in-law has a reoccurrence of leukemia - please pray for both of Molly's loved ones.
  • WSM Radio Station Staff – We need wisdom for how to overcome some very major budget challenges and soft hearts where they are needed.
    Several of our students are planning to go as student missionaries next school year. We pray for them to receive the right placement and for us to have the ability to find good replacements for them and get them up and ready in time.
    Several among our WSMC family have recently experienced the loss of loved ones, so lift them and their families up in prayer.
    Our listeners—we are a friendship evangelism tool that purposely refrains from the “hard sell” of an invitation. We air the church service and a program called “Gentle Hour of Inspiration”, but the rest of our programming is music. We pray for all our listeners, but especially those who would be considered antagonistic toward the Gospel. 
  • Math Department Staff – Prayer for the students in math classes who find them intimidating and wisdom for the professors.
Week of Feb. 3, 2025
Emphasis: History & Political Studies Department
  • Anonymous – Praise the Lord for my son, Jephter, who has the privilege to be studying at SAU and will be graduating this year, it’s a huge blessing for us! I pray that God keep guiding him and all graduates giving the strength they need while they face so many challenges this last semester and in the new chapter of their lives. A special blessing to all professors and facilities who have been used by God to teach our precious jewels. 
  • Rita Paunganwa – Prayers for Vance who is seeking to know God; that God will show Himself to the young man and win his heart.

  • Jackie Rose – Please pray for Catherine Corcoran she came from Local 3 to talk to us about the Village Market advertising with them. I shared with her about our Adventist beliefs. I told her of the joy of knowing Jesus and emphasized to her that there is no greater joy in knowing Him. She came back to talk to me on how I became an SDA. She is really interested in knowing Jesus. Pray for her as she seeks! Pray for Steve Bremner who is struggling with cancer in his leg for three years now.
  • Christopher Sorensen – Asking prayer for my father, Mark Sorensen , who is battling prostate cancer and begins radiation therapy on Jan. 9, 2025.  Praying for healing according to God's will and for His glory!
  • Anonymous – Prayers for the workers at the Aladdin Print Shop who are facing an unknown situation with the owner's unexpected passing and also for her family who have just lost a loved one.
  • Kris Eckenroth – Speedy healing for Levi, who has strep throat (son of alum, Kris).

Week of Nov. 18, 2024
  • Anonymous – Praise and gratitude for answered prayers for Savanna, her second surgery was successful and a complete recovery is expected. 
    Continued prayers for strength and courage for Mike Ryan and Gordon Bietz while they are in cancer treatment.  Prayers for their medical teams and their families throughout the process. 
    Prayers for all the student missionaries and the ministries they are serving. For their safekeeping and ability to touch lives as they serve others far from home. Praying for blessings to unfold for the givers and those receiving.  May HIS name be praised!! 
  • Christopher Sorenson – Praying for God's Vision, Providence and Provision as we prepare for our third mission assignment with AFM in Southern Thailand.  Surat Thani city has 140,000 people and no Thai Adventist believers.
  • Anonymous – Prayers for those who have lost loved ones recently: Dennis Negron, Ingrid Skantz, Debbie Duerksen, the Lundquist family, Krystal Bishop, Kate Oliver, and likely many more. Pray that God will wrap His arms around them and keep all of our eyes on our eternal home where we will be together, joyfully, never to part again.
  • Anonymous – Praise for the diversity represented on campus and prayers that students, employees, and alumni will be a witness to God's unity and love on campus and in each of our communities.
  • Anonymous – Bring a special blessing on the archaeological museum and the comb that is on exhibit. Use this as an opportunity to minister to our community.
  • Anonymous – That God may keep us all close, praying, coming together in unity and God's Power.
  • Anonymous – Prayers for Baker family - the oldest son was in a near-fatal accident last week, a close friend's daughter just died suddenly, and one of the adjunct professors in the construction management department just passed away.
  • Anonymous – Prayers for healing and full recovery for Verna, who had complications during her recent operation.
  • Anonymous – Peace, comfort, and rest for Sharon's family member with ALS.
  • Anonymous – So many prayers for comfort, peace, and hope, for the students, teachers, families, and community impacted by shooting at the Abundant Life Christian School.
  • Anonymous – Pray for those students graduating this week - for those who know where they're going that they'll continue leaning on Christ; for those who don't know what's next yet, that they'll be guided by God into the best future; and for all our students, that their focus will be on the eternal and not the temporal.
  • Anonymous – Special prayers for Sam, who is serving as a student missionary teacher on the island of Ebeye in the Marshall Islands, as well as all the student missionaries, especially those who are not able to be with family for the holidays.

  • Anonymous – Savannah, precious 7 yr old  having a very serious and rare surgery. For her parents, and extended family (current employees at SAU.
  • Anonymous – Southern's student missionaries around the world and those who are considering serving next year.
  • Anonymous – Our students—that their relationship with Jesus will be stronger by the end of the semester, their personal relationships will be healthy and strong, and they will be able to keep their focus on their academics despite any distractions.
