Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
An important educational right that is given, by federal statute, to students who are enrolled in higher education, is the right to privacy with reference to their educational records. This benefit applies to college/university students regardless of whether they are at least 18 years of age or not. You may review a summary of the law by following this link to the FERPA General Guidance for Students page provided by the U.S. Department of Education.
