Main Event
Your all-in-one gateway to begin life at Southern.
The Main Event is your one-stop-shop to start your college journey. New freshmen and
transfer students living on and off campus are required to attend. Students planning to live on campus must attend before moving into campus housing. At the Main Event, you’ll receive your student ID card
and take care of any incomplete Enrollment Checklist items that are necessary before
starting classes.In order to streamline the event and reduce your time standing in line, the Main Event
is by appointment only. Schedule your arrival date and time by June 30. If you do not, you will be assigned a specific date and time.
- Sunday, July 24: Main Event for new students attending SmartStart
- Monday, August 15: Main Event for remaining new students

Arrive on campus at your selected date and time. The Main Event is held in Iles P.E. Center (get directions). Students may not move into campus housing until they have attended the Main Event.
