The Main Event

Students, meet Southern! Orientation is an introduction to university life. We want you to know your way around, explore resources available to you, and be confident about where to turn and whom to turn to. We want you to experience success.

Parent Orientation

While we are here to help new students find their way around college life, we also understand that it can be tough for parents who do not know what is going on. Our parent orientation sessions are geared to help you learn how to navigate Southern alongside your student.

Southern Connections: NOND 101

The Southern Connections class provides tools for managing the challenges and opportunities on the university journey. Gain a better understanding of your peers, professors, university, community and yourself, while learning to be an active, responsible learner.

Southern Mentor

Each freshman is assigned to a Southern Mentor to help with the transition into university life. These peer role models who have successfully navigated the transition to college can provide helpful advice and direction to newcomers.
