Florida Hospital Hall Nears Completion
As you are contemplating your year-end giving, Southern Adventist University is very
happy to announce the near completion of Florida Hospital Hall, the new home of Southern's
School of Nursing. A grand opening is planned for Sabbath evening, January 8, 2011,
for all the donors that made this possible for our students.
The Campaign for Health and Healing included the Hulsey Wellness Center, Southern's state-of-the-art fitness and wellness education center, and Florida Hospital Hall. As a 17.5 million dollar project, we are very pleased there is only $400,000 left to raise.
With the opening just around the corner, it is essential that we conclude fundraising before the building opens.

Alumni Directory Project
Have you lost contact with some of your friends from college? We have some good news!
In partnership with Harris Connect, Southern is rolling out a brand new directory,
complete with extended search options and photos.
Fine Art Comes to Campus
Barry Moser, a native of Chattanooga and a renowned illustrator and printmaker,
brought the Bible to life on Southern's campus through his beautiful artwork. His
Old Testament illustrations were displayed in the John C. Williams Art Gallery, and
illustrations depicting the New Testament were shown in McKee Library. Moser's work
has been displayed in such places as the British Museum, the Metropolitan Museum,
Harvard, and the Library of Congress. Students, faculty, and members of the community
came away with a deeper appreciation for art and God's Word. His art will remain on
display through December.
Digging Up the Past
For a second consecutive season, Southern's Institute of Archaeology, in partnership
with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, organized an archaeological expedition to
the biblical site of Khirbet Qeiyafa in Israel.
The most fascinating find of the season was a cave located underground. Inside, the team discovered beautiful examples of Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic pottery, as well as bronze jewelry, and coins. For those who may be interested in joining the project, the 2011 season is scheduled to take place from June 8 to July 22.

Transcript Requests Go Online
All requests for official transcripts from Southern will now be handled online through
the National Student Clearinghouse, making the process faster and more efficient.
"There is no data entry, cash handling, or consent form collection, which means fewer
work interruptions and faster service," said Joni Zier, director of Records and Advisement.
