New Southern Adventist University Research Hub Hits Ground Running
The Center for Learning Innovation and Research (CLIR) opened its doors to students
and faculty at Southern Adventist University this fall semester. Already, the center
is supporting 12 research projects, surpassing its initial goal by seven, according
to Matt Tolbert, director of CLIR.
According Tolbert, the center’s primary objective is to promote and facilitate faculty research activities.
“We’d like to increase the opportunity for professors to do more research than what they’re currently doing,” said Tolbert. “There are some [professors] that because they have such teaching loads, they are not able to engage in research at the level that they really would like.”
New Research Hub Advances InnovationThe new Center for Learning Innovation and Research (CLIR) at Southern Adventist University has the goal of fostering research collaboration between faculty and students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels across the entire campus.
Level Up Learning Professors at Southern Adventist University regularly incorporate best practices into their curricula, including innovative tools such as game-based learning, gamification, and other techniques that harness the intrigue and fun of games, encouraging students to commit their attention to academics.
