
International Graduate Student Admissions
Requirements for International Students
Applicants who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States and are planning to attend classes on -campus are considered international students and must meet additional requirements for admission.
Submit non-U.S. transcripts through an approved credential evaluation agency
All non-U.S. transcripts must be submitted through one of the following approved credential evaluation agencies:
- The Evaluation Agency
- Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc (ECE): www.ece.org
- World Education Services: www.wes.org
Evaluations are to be sent directly to Southern, Graduate Studies, by the service. All evaluation reports are considered to be advisory. Southern reserves the right to make final equivalency decisions.

Submit Declaration of Finances
International students must have financial resources sufficient to support themselves for the calendar year, in addition to an international-student deposit of $3,000 (USD).
To be issued an I-20 Form, students must also provide a letter from financial sponsors (including their name and address), as well as copies of bank statements for the last three months showing the balance history for the student's account or the financial sponsor's account.Additional Information

- An admission letter of acceptance from Southern Adventist University
- Form I-20 issued by Southern Adventist University
- A valid passport
- A valid F-1 Student Visa to travel to the United States
- Sufficient funds for the first year at Southern Adventist University
On-Campus Graduate Programs
To maintain an active I-20 status, international graduate students must be enrolled in a full course of study of at least nine semester credit hours of classes each semester in attendance. A maximum of 3 credits per semester can be attended online.

- Master of Science in Professional Counseling
- In-person Clinical Nursing Degrees
Online Programs Available to Students Abroad
International students in fully online programs do not travel to the U.S. and are not required to submit financial documentation or obtain a Form I-20 or F-1 visa. Fully online degrees available to students abroad include:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Science in Education—Literacy Education
- Doctor of Education (EdD)
- Master of Science in Professional Counseling
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- Master of Social Work + Master of Business Administration (MSW/MBA)
- Master of Science in Nursing — Nurse Educator emphasis
- Master of Nursing + Master of Business Administration (MSN/MBA)
- Doctor of Nursing Practice + Master of Business Administration (DNP/MBA)
- Doctor of Nursing Practice — General (no emphasis)
Programs Not Available to International Students
The following programs are either offered online only, include summer intensives, or require other special conditions that make them unavailable to international students, either on campus or abroad:
