LIVING IN BALANCE
Southern's Quality Enhancement Program
What does QEP mean?
QEP stands for Quality Enhancement Plan.
Why do we need a QEP?
Southern Adventist University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools (SACS), which requires us to submit a QEP as part of our 2012 accreditation
reaffirmation. SACS expects the QEP to "enhance overall institutional quality and
effectiveness by focusing on an issue or issues the institution considers important
to improving student learning." Because of Southern's longstanding commitment to student
well-being that includes physical activity, this QEP was decided to properly represent
Southern in the upcoming accreditation. Southern Adventist University selected "Living
in Balance: Physical Activity" as the QEP topic for the 2012 accreditation cycle.
